Actually there were several 'specialist'  character types created for the
game. Martial Arts from Space Gamer and Interplay magazine articles
(class-like) and Empath's, Horseclans  and Deryni (human-racial types with
special abilities).

Violent reactions. Too much like classes. Make this a specialization of the
Preist Talent and I could see it, but offering up EP to trade for special
abilities opens up a whole can of worms. I can see all the other players
asking what they can get for 125 EP!
