Re: (TFT) angels

I guess it all hangs on what you mean by the word 'angel'; I'm not a religious person, and what religion I do have is not of the Judeo-Christian variety, so 'angel' may not have the same meaning for me as for many others, and I hope I do not step on anyone's real world beliefs by suggesting that angels be included in TFT. What I was thinking of were (Hopefully without drawing in the concept of alignment from other RPGs; part of what I like about TFT is that it does not include an alignment system. Alignment always felt, to me, to be artificial, and a detraction from roleplaying.) some positive force heroic characters could call on, something that FEELS more like what a heroic character WOULD call to than demons do. Maybe you could call them good demons as opposed to bad demons, or call them faeries, or beneficent nature spirits. My making them fairly equal in power to demons comes from the idea that demons (or devils) are fallen angels, so that they at least started out on an equal level. I would avoid making angels too powerful, as part of what appeals to me about TFT is that the game (or so it seems to me) focuses in on more 'mundane' heroes; the hobbit can defeat the Evil Sorcerer and all his minions. I think too powerful supernatural forces detracts from this quality of the individual prevailing on his own. I agree that IQ required to summon angels (I'll keep using that term.) should be higher than that to summon demons, as a balance for making the angels nicer, not having their summoning include the potential for negative side effects which summoning a demon has.

	I would think that angels are MUCH more powerful
than the standard demon.  I think that rather than a lesser and
greater angel they should be written up as distinct personalities.
I don't think that they should be summoned, or if they are it
is a very high IQ invoking spell.
