(TFT) TFT Handicaps



Todd,
Handicap.txt

This table combines both articles into a percentage (D100) table. It
includes a summary of each handicap but requires the articles for the full
info.

1	4	Butterfingers		DX 8 or species start level (lowest).
2	4	Moronic			IQ 7 may not be raised except by magic.
3	4	Pacifist		A pacifist will never initiate combat.
4	4	Claustrophobia		Fear of closed spaces, eg dungeons.
5-6	3	Rube Goldberg Mind	Will always support the most complicated proposal, and then add further complications.
7-8	3	One Armed		The character has use of only one arm.
9-10	3	Choleric		Prefers violence to talk.
11-12	3	Asthma			Runs short of breath and must rest.
13-14	3	Old (+30 years)		A human character would be in their fifties.
15-16	3	Cowardly		3D vs IQ not to run from danger.
17-19	2	Alchoholic		3D vs IQ to abstain from alcohol, 4Dvs IQ to stop once started.
20-22	2	Acrophobia		Fear of heights.
23-25	2	Eunuch			The character has been castrated; NPC's reations -1.
26-28	2	Nearsighted		Must roll one extra die to notice anything requiring vision. 
					-2 with missile weapons or spells.
29-31	2	Laziness		The character will never want to do anything that requires sustained effort.
32-34	2	Lame			This character suffers a -2 modifier to their MA.
35-37	2	Narcolepsy		The tendancy to fall asleep unintentionally, even when well rested.
38-40	2	Old (+20 years)		(Human) characters are in their forties. 
41-43	1	Miserly			Must test 3D vs IQ to part with money for anything.
44-46	1	Hard of Hearing		Must roll an extra die to notice a sound
47-49	1	Old			(Human) characters are in their thirties. 
50-52	1	Neurotic		Minor Phobia or neurosis; uncommon situations; e.g. Snakes.
53-55	2	Neurotic		Phobia or neurosis; uncommon situations; e.g. Snakes.
56	3	Neurotic		Major Phobia or neurosis; common or likely event. eg. Crowds
57-59	1	Fat			Encumbrance 0.5 x ST in addition to weight carried.
60-62	1	Dyslexic		Lack of eye to brain coordinatoin required for reading.
63-65	1	Gullible		It matters not how outrageous the lie, this character must roll 3Dvs IQ or believe it.
66-68	1	Homosexual		Obvious, regarded as a devient; -1 Reaction from NPC's
69-71	2	Reputation		Back in their past the character did something very remarkable, and will never live it down.
72-74	2	Fat (+8 Enc.)		Encumbrance = 1x ST in addition to weight carried.
75-77	2	Migraines		The character suffers from periodic extreme headaches.
78-80	2	Odious			This character is physically or personally offensive. Reaction -1.
81-83	2	Cuteness		The character will not be taken seriously by NPC's.
84-86	2	Over-Sexed		Test 3D vs IQ to avoid trying to seduce attractive strangers.
87-88	3	Fat			Encumbrance = 1.5 x ST in addition to weight carried.
89-90	3	Kleptomaniac		Test 3D vs IQ to avoid stealing at any opportunity.
91-92	3	Squeamishness		The character cannot stand the sight of blood.
 93-94	3	One-Track-Mind		For a Fighter this means "Charge!".
 95-96	3	One-Legged		The character is presumed to have a wooden leg. Half MA
97	4	Speech Impediment	Must test 3D vs IQ any time he trys to communicate through speech.
 98	4	Hemophilliac		Takes one extra hit from every attack which penetrates armour.
99	4	Blind			A blind character is in darkness all the time.
100	4	Rheumatic Fever		Permanent lack of Strength. Lower of Race starting ST or 12.
