It really doesn't take artistic talent to draw a map. I am a piss-poor artist. I'm 
about at the 4th grade level. I drew what I feel is a decent map back in 
college for my C&S Lorimyr campaign, that I then used for TFT, and GURPS.

Just start drawing a coastline along one edge of the map. Then place natural 
features, like mountains and rivers, then some forests. Then put some towns 
and cities at places like the mouths of rivers or where two rivers meet. Then 
put the roads in. That's exactly what I did, and you get a very usable map out 
of it. It doesn't have to look like Tolkien's maps in the Hobbit or Lord of the 
Rings.
