I'll vote a qualified 'for'.  For starters, these aren't 'hobby' level
abilities.  Some of them I'd be comfortable with as adds to various
'classes' of magician.  Similar to the suggested canonical allowance for
Norse warriors to be able to berserk at will.  I have let 'Shamans'
exist, who can learn spells from 'spirits', and so be outside the guild
structure.  That sort of differentiation is a good use for gifts like
these.
