RE: (TFT) Long Distance Teleport

Hi all,
Some Special spells do not give range adjustments
for how to cast them. In such cases I use the thrown
spells adjustments.

Subject: (TFT) Long Distance Teleport

In checking up on Long Distance Teleport, it is clear that a wizard can cast
it on someone else to send him 'away'--to any place the wizard has
previously visited. However the spell is a category 'S' spell, so what are
the mechanics of casting it on someone else? Does it count as a thrown
spell for purposes of casting it on someone else (the 'S' designation being
used because of the unlimited range of the teleportation itself) or what?

Stan

BTW, it appears that you could use LDT to send a mule carrying a lit petard
with a short fuse back to the inn where they were so rude to you, or the
annoying king's throne room. Nasty. Note that even if you botch your DX
roll the target goes SOMEWHERE, so you wouldn't blow yourself up on a bad
roll.
