But he doesn't stay one hex away the whole distance.  He
just has to avoid H's front hexes--you don't become engaged 
by entering someone's side or rear hexes. (*They* become
engaged, but you don't, IIRC.)  The move you illustrate is 
exactly how it would be done, assuming H is facing directly 
toward D.
