Just one: Do you live anywhere near me?  :)

I've run GURPS with a similar D20 system and it worked well, although it was a
civil-war era game and so didn't necessarily give the melee combat  rules a
super-through test.  But I think the concept is sound.

One side effect I'd expect, though, is that fights will take longer simply
because most people will be hitting a bit less often, although it shouldn't be
as much of a problem as it would be with the tedium of GURPS-style parrying.  


And really, just to be able to have an adjDX 8-9 starting character who isn't
totally inept would be *so* refreshing.

For any who might be interested in this system but feel that some degree of a
bell curve is warranted, a 2d10 system would give a flatter curve than 3d6. 
Roll d6 for crits on a 2 or 3.
