I don't think this is supported by the canon ... after all, a wizard
doesnt have to know how to swing a sword in order to summon
a standard myrmidon.

Suppose the spell summons a myrmidon of ST (8 + 1d6).  His
ST and DX still have to total to 24, he gets the largest weapon 
that his ST allows.   You would get fighters ranging from ST 9
to ST 14 with this method with the according DX.
