Re: (TFT) Staff spell?

1) I agree with the concept that a Staff spell introduces a damage 'floor', not a damage addition.

2) As far as the 'staves as arrows' business, it's another good example of Things SJ Never Thought Of. I find it hard to believe that his intent was to make staves something you embed in an opponent's body to present him with a ticklish logic problem.

Possible resolutions: 1) once you add fletching and an arrowhead to a 'staff', it no longer meets the requirements of the staff spell so the enchantment is destroyed. 2) Allow it, in which case most of the methods you propose should work to remove it without detonating it. Whether teleport would let to teleport someone minus a selected 'possession' is another matter, I suppose.

Issues like this are what caused me to limit wizards to having one staff at a time. Not that it makes the problem go away, but it does help. It seems like most of the reasons why someone would want to have 100 staves are going to be pretty silly (such as: I make ten 3-inch-long staves with interconnecting ends, then screw them together, and put it in with the king's walking sticks.)
