Re: Re:(TFT) Hymenopteran Version continued

Hey Robert,
how's this
Given the toughness of bugs, I thought maybe making them bigger and having
the sticky tongue as well. Wizards could then train them to retrieve dropped
weapons in combat after tehy had cast DROP WEAPON as well.

Giant Chamaeleon
4 hex monster
ST 50 DX 13 IQ 7 MA 10/14 Armour 2 pt scales

attacks: 3+3 bite, or tongue - treat as missile weapon for range, very
sticky - 4/ST to break free, otherwise target dragged to chamaeleon in 1
turn and bitten (4/DX to dodge). Biting automatically releases victim from
sticky tongue. Target max size 1 hex to be dragged.

Camouflage - if in leafy surroundings, can freeze - 5/IQ to see; 4/IQ for
naturalist; 3/IQ for expert naturalist - the chamaeleon can creep at MA 2
and this reduces die roll to see by 1 die. They have natural SILENT
MOVEMENT.

version--------------------------------------------------
Chameleons- Large 1-3 hex reptiles ST 25+ DX 13 IQ 7 MA 10/14(full
run) Armor-scaly skin stops 2 points, can blend in with their
surroundings or physically match any equally sized animal of their
own size. They attack by ambush or by integrating themselves into
a herd of beasts and waiting for an opening where they can grab
their prey and run. Bite on a 1hex does 1d6+1, 2hex 2d6, 3hex 3d6-
1, tail does 1d6 to any character in the rear -4dxadjustment for
double attacks in the same turn apply. When trapped this reptile
will go berserk and gain the adjustments just like a humanoid who
goes berserk. THey will run when out numbered or outstrengthed if
possible. Chameleons are normally solitary but during the breeding
season they will hunt in pairs. A clutch of 7-12 blue-green eggs
(size of a soccer ball each) is placed in a large grass and
earthen mound to hatch the female guards the nest when not hunting.

Chameleons are highly prized by rich nobles and other entitys
needing a vicious guard animal they are easily trained when young
and can be kept in any enviornment where the reptile stays warm.
They are extremely rare in the temperate parts of the continent,
and rare in the southern part, on the island of Thok they are
common at the moment. B^)
