Re:Re: (TFT) Staff spell? --> Wizard vs. Fighter balance

The Codex Q&A says that Staff ON A QUARTERSTAFF gives
2+0. This means that a guy with a 'two-handed' club
that happens to be shaped like a quarterstaff, who
happens to have the Quarterstaff Talent, and Staff
spell, can do 2+0. He has to swing the thing, like a
Quarterstaff, and then I would guess the Staff spell
makes it hit better.

Relax a bit, would you, folks? Nothing's on fire, here.

I agree, and as I see it, if the wizard is holding the q-staff in one hand (because the other is occupied) it reverts to your basic 1d6 staff (after all, a wizard without the quarterstaff skill can still have a big staff). Only when weilded appropriately does it get any incremental benefit.

I do like Erol's house rule that a wand (baton) sized staff also works in HTH, whereas the big q-staff type would be of no value in a pile up, I may adopt that one too, although I don't use HTH much.
