It is the giant's club that makes me unlikely ever to adopt "knockback"
rules.

Think about it: 3d+3 averages to 14.5 damage per hit. Last I checked even
with Fine Plate you will be taking 8+ damage per hit. At that point you are
on the ground anyway... further, without such armour and/or a stouter blow
you are ***dead*** and it is quite academic at that point how many hexes one
is flung back. Believe me you are beyond caring...

Just don't see the point in a special rule for the rare situation where (a)
a person takes a blow of sufficient magnitude to do a "knockback" but (b)
actually is alive and standing and *not* splattered all over the ground.
