Yeah, I've always wondered about that. And what with DMG's comments 
about having characters summoned away to yet another dimension to do 
battle. But on the other hand, why the $&*&% don't standard 12/12/8 
Myrmidons come with at least small shields?

That notwithstanding, my wizards are going to be a little more 
judicious with the lives of their summoned beings after this. Who 
knows what the karmic backlash is?
