Thanks, Dan, I was trying to make it simple.

As to your questions:

1) Is there a reason why halberds should be different from other pole
weapons? (I don't remember a difference ala pike, but I could easily be
wrong)
2) I hadn't thought about it, but maybe just for melee weapons the DX
reduction is also a damage reduction. If desired, the HTH weapons could be
+3/+3 or 0/+3 at zero distance. The +3/+3 would give (I think) a lot of the
same flavor as the viciousness of HTH that was discussed in many subsequent
posts without the extra mechanic of HTH.
3) Yes, I left that out.
