RE: (TFT) I knew this guy 3: The engineer GM

Funny you mention the engineering angle, Rick. We had a group in college that
played on weekends. During one particular session (after several beers) the
guy playing the dwarf in our group decided to start tunneling. Our GM said
(to the rest of the parties disdain) "okay, you start digging. Where are you
digging?" After some discussion of where he was going to dig and how far
(remember the beers), the GM (with a perfect poker face) began rolling dice
behind the screen, and then announced to the group "The rest of the party sees
Runyon attacking the wall with his pick" He rolls again several times, while
we heal (we thought he was rolling for noise to bring an encounter). He then
rolls once more and announces that one of us notices that the tunnel Runyon
was excavating had collapsed on him, trapping him in a pile of gravel and
rocks. It was our decision as a group as to whether to rescue him or not! By
the way, that GM is now a licensed civil engineer. :-)Steven D. Stein> Maybe
