20.3 In Close Combat, the firepower factors of attacking units are compared to the firepower factor of the enemy units being attacked in order to arrive at a ratio of attack to defence strength known as odds. Fractions are always rounded down in favor of the defender. If the Kill Number or lower is rolled the attacked units are eliminated.

Okay close combat in Squad Leader is ALMOST an afterthought. In life it's basicly suiside to charge a defended posistion especally when they have suport weapons and Squad Leader reflects this. 

The more I think about this the more I think I should come at it from the other end (Units) so let me note for now that I have an extra die to play with as in
2 / 2.7%
3 / 5.5%
4 / 8.3%
5 / 11.1%
etc. for 2d

3 / 0.5%
4 / 1.38%
5 / 2.7%
etc. for 3d

the idea being that if your gonna FOCUS on mass combat then it'd be better if the CRT wasn't quite this dry. But I wanna talk about how to make them before I get into killing them...
