I did a bit on this, following a "component" through a group of effects (spells).

It works great, and was what I've spent the majority of my time on the past few weeks.

I looked at it again this morning.

I'd better pick an example other than Nitrates.
In this day and age, where I live, I don't figure I should post formula for Dynamite, Nitroglycerin, or Gunpowder, much less all three and sources.

Sufice to say for now that I agree with your point.

A couple of intresting facts...
Saltpeter can form as an efflorescence on damp walls, like dungeons.
Latin: Sal(Salt) Petra(Rock)
