Re: (TFT) Playing in character

It just occurs to me, that I don't recall any ladies on this mailing list.
Is there anyone on this list that isn't male (white, married, 40+...) ?

I might have added American to that short list, except I'm British.

I know there are female TFT players on the online games, but I'm not sure the system is of any importance to most online gamers. Most just play the characters and let the GM run the mechanics.

Regards,

Chris

I've been playing a female priest in a TFT PBEM Y! Group.

The GM called for a palladin type (the party really needed a moral
centre). So I proposed a couple of characters, Jobe the Ox; strong
male fighter/cleric, or Anjac; smart female magician/priest.
I chose to play Anjac when I realised that she could get away with
a lot more by charm, persuasion and discussion, than Ox could by
challenge, argument and bullying.
:o)

So far it's been fun, she's a strong character and stands up well.
It helps too that I modelled her appearance on actress Julianne Moore.

For reference; I'm male hetero 40's.

It's not the first time I've played a female character, mostly I play male.

Regards,

Chris / Anjac

It's not easy releasing your

This is very interesting to me!

Of my group of 8 players, we all play male characters - except for
one guy. He always - ALWAYS - plays a chick.

World of WarCraft? Chick. He's got three characters, and all are chicks.

I just don't get it. I don't have even the slightest interest in
playing a female character; not even a smidgen. But some folks
prefer playing females.

First D&D game, I rolled up a female fairy. I was the new guy in
the group, and playing at the feet of a "Legendary" GM, and the
game was very interesting. But I just couldn't enjoy my character
because I couldn't get into the character's gender. I didn't go
back to that group.

So, I ask you:
1). Who likes to play females?
and, more importantly,
2). Why? What is the allure?
