Re: (TFT) Interesting re: Thrown Pole Weapons



Good question. Here's my ruling: As soon as you throw the spear it
goes from being a pole weapon to a thrown weapon. Thrown weapons can
not do double damage.

Besides, how many of you actually use the "three hexes in a straight
line to get double damage" rule? All versions of Melee including
Advanced Melee do not have this rule. It's only that last Mircoquest
version (as far as I recall) that included it. And that was after SJ
left the employment of the company. I always looked at that rule as a
"Howard" rule and ignore it, preferring the move one hex and do double
damage from the first rule sets. Perhaps it was added to provide more
"realism" (whatever that means in game simulation language) but as far
as I'm concerned the rule was not "broken" in the first place and
played just fine as written. Besides, the original rule makes for more
strategic play than the newer rule.
