Re: (TFT) first Saturday in May?

Landscape over time.

Virgin or Climax forest is cleared to make cultivated field.
Over time, the field looses its productivity. (Lots of reasons why this could happen.)
Field is abandoned.
Abundant seed, quick germinating plants (weeds) invade.
Within a few years the field becomes overrun in brambles and weeds.
This provides ground cover for the first tree seedlings, usually white pine or similar voluminous seed producer like gray birches.
Within the first decade of abandonment a new forest can be plainly seen in the making.
At this stage the largest trees are big enough to attract birds as perches.
Species like black cherry from other forests can be found in rings around these trees.
By about a decade and a half the pine canopy becomes thick enough to provide ground cover at another scale level, providing shelter for slower growth oaks, maples and the like.
Within 80 years factors like fire, weather and disease have claimed the pines, and have replaced the vast majority of the pioneer trees with second growth forest.
Over the course of centuries, the second growth trees in turn provide a dense canopy that shelters the hemlocks and hardwoods of dominant growth trees of the area.
At the point that the only seedlings that will grow are those of the dominant species you've got a climax or virgin forest.

John Conway's Life (A New Kind of Science) covers this.

Each region is a little different...

I hoped to be able to duck plants but that's not going to happen.
Instead duck A eats plants a - c and will be attracted to these cells.
Predator A eats a and b type prey and will be attracted to cells most populated by this prey.
Climate and other prevailing information can be given as cell data that rules read to determine the attractiveness of a cell and can themselves be assigned via a Life process (weather).

Robinson Deep Mine produced something like 15 to 20 million ounces in 70+ years.
The biggest nugget I've ever found record of was 208 (troy) pounds in Australia.
I also found an estimate for all the great strikes 1493 to 1955 massed to a cube about 50' per side.

The Big Hole produced 188 million 1963 dollars (35ish dollars an oz gold) of diamonds in 26 years.

Oh yeah, I screwed up by counting only 50 steamrollers.
I found it's description and it's a 4 step exercise.
250 + 200 = 450 / 300 (5 min) is 1.5 steps per second or about 51 seconds for 77 strides or only about 5 times slower.
That's a tad more like it.

Heart smart.
200ish beats per minuet is something like 3.3 per second or 16.5 per turn.
OMG!
3.5 is like 17.5 per turn..., 210 per minuet.
So;
ST 30 / 5 = 6bps * 5 = 30 beats per turn * 12 (turns per minuet) = 360 beats per minuet @ ST 30 to exert Strenuous effort.
+1 cumulative per 12 beats a minuet for over exertion heart attack check.

The above assumes fitness class A Figure.

200 beats a minuet moves about 30 quarts of blood through the heart in one minuet (apparently indicating either ST 17 min, or over-exertion and a heart attack check for lower ST's to be exerting this much force.)
Mild exercise is 100 to 120 beats per minuet moving 7 or 8 quarts per minuet.
Resting is 60 to 80 beats, moving 5 or 6 quarts.

Oh did I hit you with my sword?
That's line damage.
How hard?
Oooooo.
Okay, where?

Ouch, the good moments of my sword right across the back of the thigh, there's an artery back there..., 2 squares long too.
What's you fST at?
< laughs >
Your in debt dude, your heart is just a-pounding right when there's a major leak in the system...
Wanna know how fast your gonna bleed out?
Oh yeah, smooth floor.
It's getting slippery in this hex...

Well will you look at that?!?

WAY down there.
Just give your eyes a chance to adjust.
See the little twinkle?
I do believe there's light at the end of this tunnel.
Thank GOSH! I'z starting to think that I was just gonna stay trapped in here...
