Re: (TFT) Action Report - DCG's "The Dark Vale"; also rules comments

Now I'm amused...
Quoting PvK <pvk@oz.net>:
Who thinks the Shadow and Wall spells are useless?

First you say this...
Shield Rush is useful in all situations where it's useful to knock someone down, and the attempting character has no better way to do so, which is actually quite a few situations, it seems to me. I think people mainly just forget about it or don't think of it.

And then you say this... (I think they're similar points. That's why I'm amused.)

And I say... There's a lot of stuff in TFT that's not of much use in open terrain duels (like Melee did so much of). But very useful in campaign settings. Wall is great if you're in a tunnel and want to get away from the bad guys. Shadow is really good if you can cast it ahead of time, or good if you have it at a high level and cast a summoning into it. Shield rush is good for putting people into pits. These situations just don't come up all the time, that's all.
