A gaming "Calculator"?

Direct Checks
ST  DX  IQ
Stat = Base
Breaking a board with a punch is a ST Check
Performing a maneuver (juke) while running a pass-route is a DX Check
Performing a complex calculation quickly is a Check vs. IQ
These Checks tend to describe highly specific Actions of very short duration.
Exerting as much force as quickly as possible.
Touching a specific location as quickly as possible.
Producing a specific datum as quickly as possible.

Combined Checks
ST, DX  ST, IQ  DX, IQ
Stat + Stat / 2 = Base
Breaking a board with a karate-chop is a Check vs. ST, DX
Fighting off an opposing maneuver (bump and run coverage) while running a pass-route is a Check vs. ST, DX Performing a complex calculation quickly with a calculator is a Check vs. DX, IQ These Checks tend to describe a group of specific Actions commonly associated with a larger scale Action.
Blocking an opponent over the course of a play.
Playing a song on an instrument.
Producing the correct answer first on an abacus.

Whole Checks
ST, DX, IQ
ST + DX + IQ / 3 = Base
Developing springboard chopping is a whole Check
Attempting a maneuver that hasnt been practiced is a whole Check
Cramming for an exam is a whole Check
These Checks tend to describe long-term, or large scale Actions.
All of these tend to involve long-term effort to push the Figures bell-curve past the standard distribution.

Compound Checks
Combinations of any of the above.
