Well thats what I'm saying.... the ordinary Melee in TFT includes (at least, in my imagination) the standing grappling and wrestling that is part of a sword (axe, mace, etc) fight, while HTH represents the classic "Jump on the other guy and roll around on the ground." I don't think many skilled swordsmen would actually do this.... actually, they wouldn't in TFT, either, unless a very odd situation showed up. But a couple of barbarians, peasant fighters, or specialized martial artists might. And those are the same sort of people that do it in TFT..... so.... abstractions that have fun (and, perhaps, realistic) results.

TFT has nothing to do with what Fiore calls "hand-to-hand". HTH in TFT is about having fallen to the ground tangling with someone.
