Re: (TFT) Rick's Sprinting rules - A four minute mile?

Hi all, Jay.
I did not put a vast amount of thought into the
2 turns of sprinting for 1 fST other than asking
how long can people run all out. Most people are
pretty exhausted after a minute or so. People in
very good shape would last a bit longer, but then
they would have bought some fatigue superscripts
(fST) using my rules.

And while in basic TFT R. Bannister would need
a 26+ ST to do his feat, it would be a lot easier
for him to have (say) a 12 ST and buy 14 points
of fatigue superscripts. He would still be a
very unusual, high attribute, man. But he would
not be able to bench press 200 kg.

I think giants are under powered in TFT so one
change I've made is give them +2 or +4 MA (the
very long legs). So my giants are a lot faster
than standard.

As for hobbits, their DX bonuses, and damage
bonuses with missile and thrown weapons are so
big, that I say that they (along with Dwarves)
get a -2 MA. (I've also beefed Dwarves up a bit
to compensate.) All part of my master plan to
differentiate the races in TFT more. It is easy
to rationalize their lower MA - they have short
legs.

When multihex figures sprint, the fST cost is
proportional to their hex size. So a Giant
would need 3 fST to sprint for two turns.

I don't know what you mean by the Wadlow
effect. Also, I've never seen all of the movie
"meaning of life". (I have seen the skit where
they sing the song, ever sperm is sacred.)

  Warm regards, Rick.
