I agree with Rick.  To go further, the rule also says *a* weapon -- singular
-- not two.  Additionally, it says that the weapon will be ready *next* turn. 
Nothing under the Thrown Weapons write-up says you can throw the same turn you
touch a weapon; it says you can throw the turn you ready it (next turn).  I
agree what you suggest doing would be cinematic but it appears strictly
illegal to me.

Would not work.  Scooping a weapon is part of
the 'run full MA and do nothing else' option.
