(TFT) Casting spells & DX - Rick suggests harder not easier



I've never done anything like this.

I think it is a poor idea.  One problem in TFT is
that after a while people reach such high stat
totals that they can do everything well.  Making
it even easier for people to do normal tasks will
exasperate the problem.

I would be far more happy with rules that say that 
if you must cast the spell using speech AND 
gestures you are at -2 adj DX since you just
barely know the spell.  If you can use one or the
other you are at -1 adj DX.  And if you can do so
with out any aid, you have mastered the spell and
can cast it with no DX penalty.
