I did sport fencing from 82-88 at a martial arts dojo in Placentia, CA.  We had a short Irishman as an instructor named Peter Dealy who had the annoying habit of hitting you repeatedly in the exact same spot right between the ribs.  <SIGH> Fun times.

I'm currently studying 14th century German longsword at MASHS out here in Annapolis.  Very different and a lot of fun!

I fenced under Glasser at the UW in the later 70's, before the Club/team split.
