Re: Cost of spells is the big problem.

All,

The quotes below were originally posted on or about December 26th, on the thread which he refers everyone to.  Of note, over on the FORUM, he has already indicated that there will be additional changes, and has asked for input on various changes he was considering.

I strongly suggest everyone go over to the FORUM for this game and read the hundreds and hundreds of comments and his many responses to same in order to see how his thinking is running now...over two months later.

Subject: Cost of spells is the big problem.

Hi Jeff, everyone.
In the TFT FAQ steve wrote...

The Fantasy Trip FAQ

  • Can you give us details on the TFT release schedule or the format of the new releases? No, because I don't know myself. We'll probably do at least one Kickstarter – for Melee – in 2018. With miniatures! Lots of miniatures!
  • What changes will you make in the new TFT releases? I want a fully modern presentation, but most of the rules are pretty good as they are. I might revisit the cost of spells, and I might make some changes in the character advancement rules. But I might just leave things alone.
...

So other than the cost of spells and (maybe) character advancement rules,
he is planning to leave everything alone.

However, if his fix to character advancement rules fixes attribute bloat, then
I will be pretty happy.

But the many posts I've made over on the SJG forums seem now like a
waste of time.

Strange that he thinks the cost of spells are a priority.  That is something that
I do not recall much debate on.

Warm regards, Rick.

Can you quote where he says that?  In fact, he refers the reader to the forums where the debate is on-going...and which you are a participant in.  So this seems...an odd...input from you to this thread.

I see no reason for all this pessimism over things.  Let's wait and see what Steve does, and by all means, EVERYONE go over to the threads and start participating.  If you have suggestions or brilliant ideas, it's time to get them on the screen before the window of opportunity to have an input closes.
