(TFT) TFT: [A] Up the Creek (part 2)

TFT Adventure continued...
This bit took place last week, but I have been away and didn't have time
to write it up before.

Torac (Human adventurer), Striker (the Mighty Bolt Lobber) and Obsidious
(Gargoyle priest) took the now dead turtle and catfish back to camp,
leaving Lissar Hiss (Reptileman warrior) knee deep in swampy water
looking for his lost broadsword. Unfortunately Lissar doesn't recognise
danger until it bites him on the ass, so he was taken completely by
surprise when a large "floating log" burst out of the water, opened its
jaws and grabbed him by the tail.

This is not the first time Lissar has been attacked by a crocodile, last
time it was an illusion cast by Striker in a playful mood. This time the
fearsome beast knocked him over and dragged him back into deeper water.
Fortunately Lissar managed to make a St roll to break free (and keep his
mangled tail) but he was now in deeper water, the croc wasn't finished
yet and others were closing in.

Back at the camp, the other characters were ignoring the furious
splashing, roaring and hissing going on a few dozen yards away.
"I don't like the sound of that!" "It must be the mating season!"

Lissar managed to dodge the croc's charge and leapt onto its back as
they clashed together again. He was able to get one arm round its head
to hold its jaws shut but got his hand bitten in the process. The croc
rolled over on its back, thrashing its tail trying to shake-off or drown
him. This went on for a couple of rounds with Lissar alternately on top
or under water before he managed to score a 4 to hit, tearing at the
crocs softer underside with his clawed hand. The Croc's thrashing
weakened as it rolled onto its back for the last time. Lissar had to
decide whether to hang around for another attack or to make a break for
the island.

He was halfway to the shore when, in a boil of foaming water the dying
croc was pulled under by an even bigger crocodile. Lissar was down to
half strength, his tail horribly mangled and one hand severly chewed, he
was half drowned and half battered black and blue. The occupants of the
lagoon are going into a feeding frensy. Then he stopped a few yards from
shore, "Can I find my broad-sword?"

There's more but it's late.
Lissar made it back into the camp where he was very nearly mistaken for
an 'orrible swamp monster and lightning bolted. His wounds have been
cleaned and treated though he nearly lost his tail when Mr Chips
critically fumbled his physicker roll.

The next day the party went further into the swamp where they found a
settlement and ruins suspiciously like the village they left a few days
ago. I really shouldn't have been surprised when Obsidious the Gargoyle
made an arial recconaissance, alerted the whole settlement and nearly
landed on the very important bit I haven't finished converting yet.

to be continued... (later today)

Have fun,

Chris
