Actually, they do.  There are thousands of instances of musicians
signing away their rights to the music they wrote to their managers
because they were too naive to know better.  The most egregious instance
of this was Saul Zanetz, manager of Creedence Clearwater Revival.  He
ended up to the rights to all off CCR's work, and went so far as to sue
John Fogerty, CCR's songwriter/singer, for plagarism, claming the solo
work "Old Man Down the Road" sounded too much like an earlier CCR tune!
In other words, Zanetz sued Fogerty for producing a song in the songwriter's
own identifiable style!!

Fortunately, Zanetz lost :)  It seems, though, that HT learned much about
business and ethics from studying the music industry!
