Interesting.  Seems to be campaign related (of course, yours) though.
Examples are clearly seen under Elves #'s 1 and 3.  Can't an Elf use magic
if it takes the spells and why berserk against bugs????

Did you allow the players to roll more than once on the table (if they felt
lucky, of course)?
