(TFT) Im' Sion has words with the new commander.

Pak and Galendaar move over to Ben and prepare to
set his broken bone. Pak has a soldier break a couple of
javelins to act as splints. He has Ben moved a couple of meters
onto dryer ground before starting.

While this is going on Im' Sion steps up to the Decathon
Leader and says: "Sir, If you are a decathon leader where is
your decathon? What has happened to your command? I feel...
With startling speed, Doror crashes forward and smashes Im'
with his gauntleted fist to the head, followed by a powerful
kick. The horribly wounded Im' crashes down unconscious,
face first into a pool of mud.

The Decathon points to a peasant and says, "Pick this
up and keep it with you."

Pak says softly to Ben, "Do you want to stay conscious?"
Ben staring steadilly at the Decathon, nods. Pak asks a number of
peasants to come over to help. They put away their knives and
come at once, the Padrone is a popular leader and they are sorry to
see him hurt. Pak has three or four people hold each one of Ben's
arms still. Galendaar prepares to give Ben 4 healing potions. Pak
says, "Start drinking the potions as I begin pulling the blasted leg
straight." Blasted is the literal truth, sections of the wound have
all the skin missing and the broken bones gleam wetly.

The troops that were sent after the arbalist come back,
the goblins picked it up and ran. They had almost caught up
when word of the slave revolt got to them, and they headed back
immeadiately.

Doror' Tm Cremp orders one of his troops to search
the goblin bodies' and bring him the loot for fair division. With
the peasants working quietly, the new team cowed and loot in
the offing, he seems in a better mood.

Pak did not look up when Im' was attacked. He is now
ready to start. Pak orders the other rear leg to be tied in a sling like
band and pulled close to Ben's body. He tells Ben to breath
deeply for a few seconds, and then blow out all of the air, empty
his lungs completely.

"Start drinking, NOW!" Pak grabs the hoof firmly and
pulls downward twisting slightly. Even on his side Ben muscles
spasm with pain. With his lungs empty he can't scream, and
convulsively he swallows down the first potion. Flaps and
fragments of skin, quiver, flow and twist, starting to grow over
the wound. "Keep drinking!" Pak screams. He pushes and pulls
bone fragments into place, racing to get them into position, so
the healing potion does not heal them in the wrong place. For
this to work, Pak needs to work quickly. "If we had some
healing salves, we could work with him unconscious" Pak
explains as he leans back. Ben is drinking the final potion.

Then it is done. The wound has closed and the bones
have set. Even the bleeding in the stomach looks better; the
magic flows to the worst wounds first. The Padrone is absolutely
white and shaking with pain and shock. Pak does not look very
well at all, the events of the last few minutes seem to have
completely drained some final reserve. Pak whispers to Ben,
"don't run for a day or three or the leg may break, keep your
weight off it as much as possible." Loudly Pak says, "Your
good as new, Sir!" He stuggles up, shielding Ben from the
new men's gaze for a few seconds while Ben gathers himself.

As Ben stands up, the Decathon Leader says, "So
Padrone, you can brief me on the walk back to the fort. What
are the food supplies like?" He sets off up the slope at a fairly
slow pace, so that the wounded can keep up.

Im' is being carried by the peasants. A soldier has
collected his weapons.

	What do you all do?

	***

Note to players: A Decathon Leader is the lowest
rank in the Captain's List. A Padrone is the second
highest rank in the Sergeants list. This is the new rank
structure that has receintly been introduced, and people are
not used to it yet. Altho a Decathon Leader theoretically
out ranks a Padrone, it would have to be a pretty self assured
Decathon Leader who gives unpopular orders to a Padrone.
(For your information, a Padrone earns twice the wages of
a Decathon Leader.)

Decathon Leader Doror' Tm Cremp is an
immense bull of a man, heavilly armed (with a great sword)
and armored (in scale mail). He does not seem well liked by
his troops, but they certainly jump when he gives an order.
