(TFT) Proposal: Paladins and Anti-Paladins in TFT
14 March 2000
Hi Folks,
First, thanks for all your comments on the Errant School of Thought ... I
never
expected the discussions would result to talks on the creation of a 2nd Codex
... i
also really like the ideas and the current developments on the Cliportage ...
hope to contribute in the next few weeks ...
i know that tft never created specialist characters ... the talents and
spells already
made up for it, but gathering my notes starting from the 1st of January 2000
and from
the very little i remember of discussions on the priest (is this a specialist
character?), healing, etc ... i thought of adapting the Paladin /
Anti-Paladin into tft ...
Hence, I would like to propose:
The Paladin / Anti-Paladin
To qualify, a character MUST strictly comply with the following:
1) Only Humans may be Paladins or Anti-Paladins ... (Side Note: I noticed
during my
gaming days that no one wanted to be Human so ... tough on other races)
2) Character point totals (ST+DX+IQ) must be at least 40.
3) Be a devout or fanatic follower of a Pantheon.
4) ALWAYS follow the Pantheon's Tenets (GM's discretion) to the MAX ...
5) Be consecrated by a High Priest of his Pantheon (cost: $ 5,000 per
Offering
... see below)
6) Give up 1 point each from his statistics (ST, DX, IQ) as an offering to
his Deity
(sic). These statistics are GONE as if he died ... He can again gain these
later by
accumulating experience points and/or gaining stats.
7) In return, he gets the following (for lack of a better word) powers:
a) Power to heal himself (Touch: 1D6) once per day (1st Offering)
b) Power to heal others (Touch: 1D6) once per day (2nd Offering)
c) GM's discretion (3rd Offering)
d) GM's discretion (4th Offering)
e) GM's discretion (5th and last Offering)
each Pantheon/Religeon may have different powers, gifts, etc. bestowed on
their
Paladins/Anti-Paladins
8) Should the character stray out of character (GM's discretion), he loses
all his
advantages in # 7 immediately and forever. Stats lost due to consecration
are never regained as a result of losing Paladinhood.
9) Once becoming a fallen Paladin or fallen Anti-Paladin, he can never ever
be one
again.
Side notes:
on Pantheons ... err, this could be any Pantheon/Religeon which exists in
Cidri ... even Demon worshipers have a Pantheon (don't they ?)
on Anti-Paladins - the dark side of Paladins 8-)
Any thoughts, suggestions, violent reactions ?
Best regards to all,
Jaypus
