Oh, I agree that it's dumb.  'Thorny Topic' = diplomatic-speak 
for 'Dumb Idea'.  The gate interconnection thing is probably 
the way to go.

It's more earthlike, especially in that you can see the 
stars.   But whatever, it was just an odd thought.  Forget 
I ever mentioned the idea.
