Ed in Nashua here. No campaign, but persistant rumors. :)

That, and a monthly gathering of gamers of my aquaintance, floating from
Nashua to Arlington to Manchester to wherever. Games are mostly board
games, no RPGs unless you count Munchkin.

That's very good. That is how you start TFT flowing. Before one of these gatherings, create a two-four hour TFT game (with assigned characters). Have it be with a lot of action, but with roleplaying. At or just before the gathering, recruit a few players. If you know the guys who've played TFT, get them. Otherwise, just say you have a Roleplaying game that you are hosting and sit them down. You only need about 4 players. Get some of the the brighter Munchkins. They may surprise you. You set them down, go over a few of the stats and game mechanics. Then you do all the work...they do an action, tell them to roll 3 dice against Dex. They grumble why there should be a blind alley here...ask them if they want to disbelief the wall, then make a big show of secretly rolling the dice. Tell them, too bad, the wall is still there, but they do notice how truly bad the stagnent water is here. You run the game while they play and soon they will be rolling the rolls right along with you.

If your game ran well, you have a base of players who know how to play and will want to play next time. If you have some of the books to show them, they'll know that even though this is a Dead game, it is not a "garage made" game. Build your base of players and you may even have room to be a player.

Hail Melee,
John Paul
