3. Can't all this magic specialization be done with role-playing? What's to
stop a character (or a GM declaring an NPC) to be an 'accupuncture mage'?

Michael

Actually, here is a really outragious concept: Role-playing Talents (not magic). These talents cost nothing. The Player just lists it on his character's sheet. If you can give a good reason to the GM as to why the character has it, he OKs it.

You can't use them in pressure situations. Any use of this talent is 5D6 against appropriate attribute OR ROLEPLAY THE SITUATION without dice. Again, can't be a pressure situation like a fight or picking lock when the Gelatenous Cube is coming down the hall.

This can usually be any talent on the Talent Chart.

Anyway, this is a variation of Michael's "your character knows how to ride a horse, if you say he does, as long as its easy" or some concept like that. Your WWII Medic knows how to drive a car (or a jeep) and he can do it in the "fort", but when he gets to the front and jumps into a jeep and tries, he better have driving talent or he's going to stall it or flip it at the GMs whim.

Haven't tested the concept out and I'm sure its full of disasterous consequences.

Hailmelee,
John Paul
