RE: (TFT) Weapon Multiplier --> Repost

Hi Michael,
Dwarr does not move one hex forward,
he moves 1 hex forward and left. He is now
one hex away from Homan but on the alternate
hex grain. Since he is still unengaged he is
free to move again.

>Hello everyone.
One thing I did not like in TFT was that
the people who moved second could run wide
around someone facing them and get side or
rear hexes.

Let's give an example, Dwarr the dwarf has
the normal MA 10. Homan (a human) is standing
just two hexes away (so there is one blank
hex directly between them). The two are standing
on the hex grain.

The roll for initiative and Homan loses.
Dwarr tells Homan to move first. For one reason
or another Homan chooses to stand still. Dwarr
can now run 5 hexes: One hex forward and to his
left. <

I dont think this can happen. As soon as Dwarr moves 1 hex forward (into
the blank space between him and Homan) he is enagaged.

Advanced Melee, p. 4 - SHIFTING. "Only disengaged figures may move more
than one hex per turn. An engaged figure may move only one hex during the
movement phase, and must stay adjacent to all figures to which it is
engaged; this is called a SHIFT."

So Dwarr would move 1 hex and stop that turn. At which point Homan would
change facing or SHIFT to keep Dwarr in his front hexes.

Dwarr could never 'backstab' someone by walking around him according to the
TFT rules.
