   Here's a new lesser magic item to have fun with:

MAINTAIN SUMMONING: Similar to Maintain Illusion, this
  enchantment allows a wizard's summoned creature to be
  maintained without any ST cost.  Only the initial
  casting ST or summoning gem must be expended to summon
  the creature.  If desired the creature can also carry
  the item with this enchantment - usually in the form
  of a ring, headband, or collar.
