So you can't grasp anything after grasping the original
object? That doesn't sound good. How about not allowing
the weapon to be called if it has been grasped by someone
else since you let it go?
Suppose you cast it on an item before you let go of it.
Then, if someone else hasn't held it, you can call it
back. You could do a DX throw to cast the spell, and
then another to call it back when the item is at range.
