Can they freely choose to do so?  Would it perhaps require an IQ roll to do
so?  Does the spell end when they drop the item (meaning, if the target drops
it can the caster maintain the spell in case the target picks the item back
up)?

I guess the larger question is what happens if you reduce an IQ 8 combatant to
IQ 3.  Can he do anything at all (move as he likes, for instance)?
