(TFT) SOLO 010
About an hour to midnight they are ready to take down a demon. It's a
long walk and three young girls come with you. Trailing behind are Rebbeca,
Ada, and Gail.
About an hour into the catacombs you stop at a small room. Everyone is
speaking in hushed tones. "Do not worry about all the demons you see
gathered before the throne. They only want the throne for themselves. When
it is empty they will fight each other to get it. That is all they want,
the throne."
One of the girls gestures to Rebecca. "She will rescue the child."
Another girl gestures to Ada. "Ada, will finish the demon."
The three girls line up in front of you, Ada, and Rebecca. "You
shouldn't be in there for more than 10 seconds. Then teleport straight back
to our eating room."
They bow their heads and the next thing you know you are standing before
the throne of a demon.

She will step up next to you and cast clensing.
The demon on the throne looks angry to see you. Veins bulging on his
neck, and his fore head throbing. You have caught him in a rage. All the
other demons were lounging around bored, and yawning, ignoring the shouts of
the throned demon. That is, untill you popped in. They will watch with a
thrill as the fight begins.
You come right to the point. You charge up the glove six points of work
this time. you take a step forward, now standing over the demon on the
throne. Ada takes a step forward, standing next to you. And behind you
Rebecca says to the little girl, "It's o.k. You can bring it with you." And
scoops her up.
Then the demons move. Every demon on a carpet has opened their eyes to
pay attention. The demon on the throne stands up. He glares down at you.
Just by the way the demon stood up you know you are faster than him. You
strike his chest harder than ever. The glove does 8+3 damage on a hit. But
he is standing above you so your DX is only 14. 25 points of damage will
knock him back down into the seat and he will lose his next turn.
Ada passes her hand over the throne and says a blessing in latin.
"Purgare!" DX 17 and the demon is instantly dead. And now the throne he was
sitting on has been purified. Purified which means the demons can't use it
anymore.
Rebecca teleports out of the room with the little girl on DX 16. That
ends the first round of combat with the demons. If for some reason both you
missed the demon and Ada failed to cleanse him, he will hit you at DX 15 for
4+1. That will probably kill you.
***
For the next turn all the raging and howling demons teleport around you
and Ada, totally surrounding both of you. They all attempt to shoot in and
take you down. You both have 4 demons trying to take you down. A total of
8. They seem to be very upset that the throne was purified. Roll 1D to
resist each one. Roll four times for you and four times for Ada.
1-2 you/Ada go down on the steps, the other demons pile on.
3-4 One of the demons pulls you/Ada down, the others help him.
5 you/Ada push the demon back.
6 you/Ada block the demons hands with your fist,
Uncle punches him for 1+5 damage with the glove
Ada strikes with a fist for 1-4.
Just as soon as one demon gets you in HTH the rest will pile on
automatcially. After all the demons move, you or Ada can try to teleport
out. But not if you are in HTH with even one demon. Hiting the ground uses
up your action for this turn. If none of the demons got you in HTH then
roll the regular DX 16, or DX 18 for Ada.
***
On the next turn the demons will rip you to peices with their claws. You
don't think you can get the teleport spell to work with all these demons
piled on top of you. It's DX-6 to cast a spell in a wrestling match. That
means you would go on DX 10, but all the demons will claw you before that at
DX 17.
Your only chance is to disengage from the whole pile of them. You
disengage on 4D vs. DX 20. So you go first. All the demons piled on you
will loose the rest of this turn and attack no one, because they no longer
have an HTH to disengage from. You will leave them in a pile at your feet.
***
Next turn they can't jump you, they have to spend their action standing
up. You can teleport out now. Let's hope you can make the DX rolls to get
you and Ada out, DX 16, and DX 18.
Survivors get 30 exp each for accomplishing the rescue. Individually they
get 1 point for each point of damage done, and the DX of any demon they
killed. And an additional 1 point per point of fatigue. 6 for charging the
glove, and 20 for teleporting out. Ada also gets another 20 for the
cleansing.
When you get out Ada says "That went bad. We almost didn't make it."
Rebecca says "Break out the extra candles. Wake up some extra eyes. They
may try to counterstrike."
