Re: (TFT) Waste of time?
Yeah, the average marine doesn't last long in melee with a bug, its all shooting and getting out of the way of the horde of bugs. TFT's strength (IMO) is really in small group melee combat.
All that having been said, if you are willing to do the work I definitely would be interested in the results. Never know when I might want to run an SF campaign, and if I can run it in TFT even better.

I would submit that there are serious scalability issues here - perhaps an
adaptation of "Aliens" might be a better idea.
