Hi,

I hadn't really looked at the "Legends of the Ancient World" rules before - been pretty busy at both home and work. They're really nice. Obviously simple, fastplaying, but very workable, with a number of very nice features. I especially like the experience system. Much as I love all my work on TFT over the years, I actually now have to look things up during play occasionally, which I hate.

That's kinda my problem as well. Over the decades, I have added so much stuff and changed so much that what I play little resembles the simple, original game. Legends gave me the opportunity to "start fresh" as it were, which is why I'm trying to play it as written as much as possible.

And more solo-possible programmed adventures is a Good Thing - guess I'll pick them up ASAP. If the western and space settings come out compatible, that would be excellent too - I tend to get into cross-genre dimension hopping.

Couple of leading questions from the ruleset:

Can a wooden club also be a wand? From the descriptions it would seem so. In which case I think my Wizard/Rogue would use double club/wands, each with a few extra ST points.

Yes; I asked the designer that question.

Can daggers be thrown? Obviously real daggers can be thrown, but in terms of the ruleset it was not referenced/specified. If so (and also in the case of spear/javelin) does additional damage from skill add to both melee and thrown?

I'd graft the appropriate rules from Melee on. There's also no DX modifier for missile/thrown weapons. Again, I'd graft the appropriate Melee rules.

By the way, if you're looking for testers....

Well, if you're in East Texas... :-)
