Alan,

No I do not have that one, but I recently bought all of the other current Legends of the Ancient World Games throught Dark City Games. I have not had a chance to go through them yet, but on a superficial look they appear to be excellent I must say.

Seconded, on both counts. Have played through much of "Island of Lost Spells" with my family. My wife, the neophyte referee, loves it. The 5, 9, and 13 year olds can actually be induced to do their chores early to leave time to play it. That says a lot. Of course, I'm having a ball!

well ... un-normal. The higher point character is the follower. As in,
followership is considered a higher level of skill. Anyone can lead.

Well, not entirely true, the 9 year old would have run home at the first encounter.

The 5 year old popped up at an early encounter with "I think I should plug that <unknown quantity> with a heavy crossbow bolt!" (to which I replied, "*Well said*, lad!"). It worked great. However, he seems to have learned the lesson too well. At the next serious encounter, he repeated "I take out my crossbow and shoot the <incredibly powerful and dangerous foe>!" and we all had to shush him and inform him that sometimes, negotiation was the better part of valor.

So the 13 year old is really the only one capable of leading.

But very true, inasmuch as my "shield bearer" character is taxing my ability to protect the others and take the brunt of most of the dangerous attacks so they can have fun and get experience (both xP and game-playing time) without biting the dust myself.

"..to serve and protect. It's not just an adventure, it's getting to be a job!"
