(TFT) Basic Question about hexes

I should already know this, but I'm having trouble finding the  
answer.  The basic melee hex is described as a 1 and 1/3 meter hex.   
Does that mean that the hex is one and a third meter point to point,  
side to side, or is that the length of each side of the hex?
