I wasn't annoyed (maybe at myself).
I'z just WAY off!
You've corrected my thinking on the issue. I've just had a full plate lately and I'm SO bad with math and stuff that I'll probably need the best part of a day to get my teeth into it.
It'd just be nice to have the "HO points" constant and be able to adjust the map to scale rather than draw a set of points via given map scale.
Of course you only need hexes for detailed movement or units of area. Pirate treasure maps are conceptual. Medeval city maps are repersentational. From what Mr. Jackson has to say on Cidri a scale map would have to be an artifact and may be unreadable.
