Encylopedia as Rules.

Encumbrance, a good race Horse, and "A Place For My Stuff".

1 HP = 550lbs lift 1ft per second.
1 HP = 110lbs lift 5ft per second.

39.37 in per meter
1.3m = 52.49in ~ 4.3ft
1 HP ~ 130lbs lift 1hex per second or 5 hexes per turn.
2 HP moves 130lbs 10 hexes in 1 turn.

Moves it *vertically upward*. On a wagon moving horizontally, may be able to do 10 times that well, at equilibrium (depending on how good the wagon wheels and road are).

I recommend metric; 1 horsepower = 0.7457 kiloWatts. I note that the original source material is primarily in metric, one of SJ's more far-seeing innovations.

Otherwise, looks good.

Encumbrance as Horsepower
Horsepower, unit of power in the English system, for measuring the rate at which an engine or other prime mover can perform mechanical work. It is usually abbreviated hp. Its electrical equivalent is 746 watts,

Yeah, agreed and endorsed. :-)

Megahex centered around Figure in question.
Megahex fixed.
If fixed, hexes have history.
Megahex drift (up and right) (corialas effect, south hemisphere down and right, wait scratch that, reverse it, lol)

I can calculate coriolis effect, but suffice it to say there is no practical effect in game terms for anything this small.

But you knew that, I'm sure. :-)

I find that I start with an ideal of my goal.
IF I put effort into it, I find that I have to make compromises to "make it work". I have a poor ability to stand back and assess my goal while trying to "make it work".
This makes it easy to loose my ideal.
I wonder if this happens to anyone else?

Not me. I idealize my goal, start to make compromises, and give up. Sigh. I'll try to take some inspiration from your perseverance!

Pottery
Farming
(increases population)
(agracultural jobs)

Could add a "farming technology" type skill. Crop rotation, irrigation, fertilization, etc. A&M university type stuff, increases farm output by a noticeable fraction (or makes a subsistence farmer into a gentleman farmer).

Alphabet
(determines dominate language)
An exterminated culture...

Many extensions possible here;
Historian - can write accurate concise histories or testimony
Lawyer - can write accurate legal documents, proclamations, treaties, etc.
Shorthand - can write as fast as speech

Bronze Working
Armourer
Goldsmith
(Old stone items offered as bronze)
(new items available)

Could add
Jeweler - can work with fine gems, setting, cutting, polishing, etc.
(this may go with the Currency group instead, though)

Ceremonal Burial
(graveyards)
(componets)

Definitely should be part of the Priest series - this is practically *always* associated with religious beliefs or ceremonies.

Writting
(buracratic jobs)

See above

Code of Laws
(political jobs)

See above

Mathmatics
Mathmatician

Navigator - Celestial navigation, a la polynesians or (for high tech places) Nathaniel Bowditch.

...

Astronomy
?

Connects to above
...

Thoughts;
Some Technologies serve to give new materials for fashoning items and equipment.
Stone age maces improve progresively as the materals improve.

Some Tehcnologies serve to open new Jobs on the Job Tables of the area.

Some Technologies serve to allow the compleation of new structures and Map improvements, often necessary for new Jobs produce.

The original "Warcraft"/"Starcraft" series of computer games is an interesting (not necessarily good) model for the above.

Some Technologies allow control over "Global Variables" like Population.

A more comprehensive (but not necessarily better) model for these is in "Master of Orion".

Prototypes as Magic Items.
lol

Yeah. The first crossbow? The first trebuchet? Wow.

Shore to Continental Slope.

... also, note bottom temperatures are all in the ~ freezing range, and it's absolutely black (no light) down there, below ~250 meters (less in water that's not crystal clear, which is most water). Also, the mud is really soft down there and the first touch will often stir up clouds of turbid mud and drop visibility to zero almost instantly. Characters will need some serious protection. "Water breathing" will just accelerate the heat loss; "fresh air" would be nice to have draw from the tropics.
