Re: (TFT) Scale stuff for Goblin
I'm populating these hexes as follows.
Hamlet, Vilage, Town and City per World Book Unabridged Dictionary where the diffrence between a village and a town is the existance of a "Market" (also a water mill on this specific Map).
A Hamlet is a small group of farms, i.e. 5 farms per 1 hex field at 5k sts per hex.
This goes down in buildings.
Assume 10m by 10m for a house.
call it 750^2m surface area.
80pST per unit bend stress + pST of posts = 500 pts dam, over 750m^2 wipes building to foundation.
There is aLOT of info here, but I'll deal with many questions with the finish of Gibal...
More Philosophy at the end...
Okay, all the mess about feeding them... (they also poop the feed and we're back to Nitrates for soil improvement)
(Think poop is grose? Try blood...)
Anyhoo, we're speaking of 14 century pesants, and why I'm justified in ignoring 2/3rds of everybody as pesant/piss-ants.
Guess what?
You don't get to count piss-ants as possable Wizards.
Better improve your vilages with Schools if you wanna find additional apprentices...
Basicly, the Chits tell me that this "region" supports around 800 human profesional soldiers.
This dosen't count the Barons almost 300 man entruage, suffecent to pillage an entire field hex.
Etc.
so rough rule of thumb is 300 non-farmers per field hex.
at 50 field hexes this hits a pop of 15,000.
Call 10,000 Farmers and we're still in the ballpark.
More soon...
