Never really justified it. Lived with it. High DX is tempting but beginning
characters can suffer if you overload DX, particulary since there is more to
the game than combat roles based on DX. OTOH, once you can have an adjDX of
13 or more while having decent armor protection and a decent melee weapon,
you're a force to be reckoned with.
We usually adjusted the die role by taking the difference between the
combatants adjDX and dividing by 2 and then used this figure and adjusted
the die roll up or down accordingly.

After years of play, I just realized something.
Combat is only based on your ability to hit, and it doesnt take your
opponents dex into consideration.
Did I forget something?
If not, how do you justify?
